Question 4 - How did you use your media technologies in the construction, planning and evaluationb stages?
To research music videos I used Youtube, I did this on my home computer and ones at College this was done on Google which I also used to search for pictures and lyrics to songs. Blogger was an important part in the all three stages of the course, it allowed me to post my work and get feedback from peers and teachers in order to advance and improve my products. I also used websites like Surveymonkey and CreateAPieChart in order to collect and represent my feedback from my audience. To film and take pictures I used a camera that was provided to me by College, after the material had been recorded I used a Movie maker program to create my video, this allowed me to add edits to my video.
Question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I created a survey on SurveyMonkey and received 11 responses in total, these were from family and friends, which provided a wide range of age and music taste in my answers.
Three questions were asked and answers were recorded.

Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

"I like the colours and lighting on the digipak. It really focuses on the hands which made sense when you explained the lyrics"
"The digipak looks really cool, I didn't know it was for a Metal music video until you told me"
Question 1 - In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
During my research into Metal videos I noticed several codes and conventions, some I used in my music and some I did not. One of the most obvious and popular convention is to have members of the band, particularly the singer, have a majority of the camera time. This is one of the conventions I chose not to follow due to the equipment and people needed. However, I chose to have lots of quick cuts to keep with the tempo of the music and I chose to have a story based video due to a large percentage of the music videos I researched also had stories in the video. I did not knowingly challenge any codes and conventions because I wanted it to be recognisable and appealing to my audience.

Location Shots
Here are some location shots from my music video:
1) Bramcote College, next to the sports hall. I used this location because it was out of the way, between two buildings so lighting was quite dark and it also had a path leading to a door which I could use.

2) Beeston highroad, I used this location because it was a busy place with lots of shops, businesses and some vacant buildings the actors could sit outside of.

Britney Spears - Filming Practice
Before filming, we went through the video on Youtube and took screenshots and made a small storyboard from the screenshots.
During this we got a better idea of using camera shots & angles with a camera and positioning props and actors within the camera shots & angles. Editing this short clip also prepared us for editing the ancillary task and let us become familiar with the software we were going to use.
